Terms & Conditions — SOHUM PLAY

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Sohum Play ("we", "us") for the SOHUM PLAY mobile app (the "App"). By downloading, installing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Who can use the App

The App is intended for players aged 13 and over. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the App only with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Licence to use the App

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial entertainment. You must not:

copy, modify, translate or create derivative works of the App;
reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where the law expressly allows;
sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the App or any part of it;
remove any copyright or other proprietary notices; or
use the App for any unlawful purpose, including real-money gambling or betting.

4. Virtual coins and chips

The App awards virtual coins, chips, stars and similar items ("Virtual Items") for playing. Virtual Items:

are earned only through play — they cannot be bought;
have no monetary value and cannot be sold, transferred, or exchanged for money, prizes or anything of value;
are stored only on your device and are lost if you uninstall the App or clear its data.

Card games such as Teen Patti and Rummy use Virtual Items only. They are simulations for entertainment and do not offer real-money gambling or any opportunity to win real money or prizes. Success in these games does not imply future success at real-money gambling.

5. Your profile and fair play

The display name and avatar you choose are shown to the players you connect with over local Wi-Fi. Please don't use names that are offensive, hateful, or that impersonate someone else. Local matches are informal games between people using their own devices; we don't moderate them, so please play respectfully and only connect with people you know.

6. Intellectual property

The App — including its code, design, artwork, sounds, text and the SOHUM PLAY name and logo — is owned by Sohum Play or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. Traditional games such as Ludo, Carrom and Snake & Ladder are in the public domain; our particular implementation of them is not. Open-source components included in the App are licensed under their own terms, listed in the App under About → Open-source licenses.

7. Privacy

The App collects no personal data. Our Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information and forms part of these Terms.

8. App stores

You may obtain the App from Google Play or the Apple App Store (each a "Store"), and your use of the App is also subject to that Store's terms. These Terms are between you and us only, not the Store, and we — not the Store — are responsible for the App and its content.

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, you also acknowledge that:

Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App;
to the extent any warranty applies, Apple's only obligation is to refund the purchase price (if any) paid for the App;
Apple is not responsible for any product-liability, legal-compliance, consumer-protection or intellectual-property claims relating to the App;
you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or listed as a prohibited party; and
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

9. Updates and availability

We may update, change or remove games and features, and may stop offering the App, at any time. Some updates may be required to keep using the App. The App is currently free; if we ever introduce paid features, they will be clearly marked and optional.

10. No warranty

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted, that local multiplayer will work on every network, or that saved progress will never be lost. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under consumer-protection law that cannot be excluded.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sohum Play will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, progress or Virtual Items, arising from your use of or inability to use the App. Because the App is free, our total liability for any claim relating to it will not exceed the amount you paid us for it, if any.

12. Termination

You can stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Your licence ends automatically if you break these Terms. Sections 4, 6 and 10–13 continue to apply after termination.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [your country/state], without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of any mandatory laws of the country where you live.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, mention them in the App's release notes. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
